Masters Week Missing Arnie

Although the iconic images and memories of Augusta National are many, one of my all time favorite traditions will be bittersweet this year during the 2017 Masters Week.

For the last 10 years, we’ve enjoyed watching that baby fade hit the fairway of “Tee Olive” or hole number one -- marking the start of another memorable Masters tournament struck by none other than Mr. Arnold Palmer. Along with my own, I am sure there will be many heavy hearts as this tradition continues on in his absence.

Although he will not be there in person, the memories he has created in his 50 starts and his 10 years as the honorary starter will no doubt be palatable in the many lives he has touched in his historic career.

I could go on and on about the many memories, the shots, comments and images I have burned into my brain but there is nothing I can say that hasn’t already been said about the legend that is Arnold Palmer.

For me, the Masters will never be the same. But I know that his legacy will live on and I eagerly await this next chapter as I tune in to watch history-in-the-making at this year's tournament.

Mr. Palmer, you are a legend, a hero, and an icon and will forever be held on my highest pedestal.

Thank you for touching my life and sharing this game with me.

You will be forever missed.

If you're missing Arnold this week, too, we encourage you to come out this week in his honor to enjoy some time on the greens.
