If you are looking to play Pebble Beach, check out this golf pro's write up on the various golf courses in Pebble Beach

Did you know that there are 7 epic golf courses in Pebble Beach?

Many of our visitors are shocked at the amount of holes they find when they make their maiden voyage down the rolling paths through Pebble Beach history, known as 17 Mile Drive.

17 Mile Drive

On a side note, if you love the game and forgot your clubs or simply can’t afford the high fees to experience these incredible tracks, 17 Mile Drive gets you up close and personal to nearly all of them for just a $10 day fee. Your life is not complete until you’ve taken your selfie on the 18th at Pebble, whether you play Pebble Beach, or not. Simply standing there is an experience of a lifetime!

I’m one of the lucky one’s to have played them all.

Here’s how I line them up as my favorites, with all things considered, including quality, experience and history:

  1. Cypress Point - Priceless (Private)
  2. Monterey Peninsula Shores Course (Private)
  3. Spyglass Hill - $395 pp
  4. Pebble Beach - $525 pp
  5. Poppy Hills - $225 pp (I was tempted to make this #1 but you just can’t touch Cypress)
  6. Monterey Peninsula Dunes Course (Private)
  7. Spanish Bay - $280 pp

Wow, that’s one hell of a list, and lining them up was way harder than I thought it would be! No wonder Matt Ginella has such a hard time putting the top 50 in the right order. Just kidding, Matt :)

So now, if we take out the courses most can’t play, you're left with the following courses:

#1 - Spyglass Hill

#2 - Pebble Beach

#3 - Poppy Hills

Make that your next Pebble Beach vacation and I promise you it will never be forgotten.

Spyglass Hill gives you a really nice blend of Poppy and Pebble with several holes showing dramatic ocean views giving you the Pebble feel and then several holes winding through the forest giving you that serene Poppy Hills feel.

Pebble Beach well I think that says it all. It’s Pebble freaking beach, it’s amazingly awesome and the history just can’t be matched.

Poppy Hills - It's a dramatic change of pace compared to the other two. It’s quiet and fun -- and truly is the hidden jewel of Golf’s Greatest Zip Code. You’ll enjoy 18 holes that weave through the towering Monterey pines of the world famous Del Monte Forest. Poppy Hills carries the Pebble Beach ambiance with a kiss of Pinehurst #2.
